Filomena Farms

Filomena Farms is named after my senior rottweiler, Filomena. She loves chickens, cats and all other animals. Being involved in animal rescue and dog sitting, I’ve turned my back yard into a haven for animals and their humans. There is a dog play area with a pool (under construction) along with a coop that houses 8 hens and two bee hives. Rain water harvest barrels are spread out in my yard as well as fruit trees, vegetable garden and flowers round out the lot.

When I moved into my neighborhood 8 years ago, I pulled out the front yard lawn and with La Mesa Verde and CommUniverCity’s help, we put in garden beds for neighbors to grow their organic vegetables.
